Finally she arrived :D
Not exactly “finally arrived” though because I have to pick her up in the post office and pay for the customs tax, which costed 25%. I’m quite lucky thanks to the dealer though, or else it would be far-far worse.
Yeah, next time it’ll be hand carry. I’m not buying anything funny above 60% of my CC limit anymore.

Admittedly I kind of overpaid for this because it’s a user camera with brushed away paint in some parts and dings from metal vs. metal contacts instead of mint. Light rust residues, but should be easy enough to clean up.
All functions seems to work fine. I loaded a test roll inside, but until all the results came out, I can’t say much of the result, especially two critical functions.
First is the rangefinder. I don’t have any accurate device to measure, but seems like the horizontal alignment is good enough. It’s the vertical side that I’m worried about. The vertical alignment seems to be off by a little, just like my Yashica rangefinder.
There is a way to adjust it in your home. But the warning is the same, it’s too difficult because of the positioning of both screw that will interfere with each others. And again, I don’t have any tool to do precise measurement for the horizontal alignment. Well, hope I can find someone cheap enough for CLA. Until then, I think I can live with wrong vertical alignment.
The person I bought this from gave a battery inside. I don’t know if this is a WeinCell battery or the original mercury battery (or even a 1.5V battery). This means I can’t be sure about the exposure metering yet. Well, I tested it against my digital and seems like it gave a certain amount of over exposure. Maybe one stop.
Really can’t wait for the next weekend. Plus have to buy new film stock and sell off my old stuffs.
By the way, called her Ciel, because well… C-L, right ?
[After test short]
The vertical alignment is screwed and my attempt to correct it just made things worse. I think I need to find someone who can fix this. Not too sure for Indonesian technician to open her up, maybe schedule a visit to Singapore.
Now the shutter voice, like it. This is purely my subjective impression, SLR shutter sounds like credit card imprint machine while my mirrorless sounds like exhaust fan shutter. From my dim memory, I think the M9 also sounds close to that. In the other hand, this CL sounds like a thick fabric curtain blind being pulled up by coil action. Still noisier that my Yashica Electro though.
BTW, that comparison is not about the decibel but the colour of the shutter sound itself.
